GIANT BIRD OF PARADISE

The Giant Bird of Paradise is native to Natal in South Africa. It is a banana-like plant with stems reaching to 5m. Leaf blades may grow to 2m and become feather-like as the wind serrates the leaf. It is drought and salt resistant and grows in semi-shade to full sun. Care with planting close to pipes as the root system can be extensive.
